I have finished putting together Erin’s quilt top. She went with me and picked out the fabrics she wanted and I tried something I had not made before. I really like how it came out. Now… the not so fun part. Cleaning up all the treads all over the place. I think this is one of my favorite patterns that I have worked on. It looks tricky but is so easy. I love to quilt. The top is Erin’s Christmas gift- and having it quilted will be her birthday gift. I just really enjoyed making this one. I already have a list in my head of the next one I want to work on.

As another day rolls around I start to plan what I will do. There are several fun things on my list- but first and formost I must wash away the gray today. I am sitting here with Miss L’OREAL (7BB to be exact) on my head- waiting for the kitchen timer to tell me I am ready to rinse. So exciting. I have used this color and product for YEARS and yet everytime I wonder- did I screw up and my hair will be green this time? It always makes me wonder? And also….. what about these grays? Why do I seem to have more this time than last? And- I wonder- do they actually look like silver? Maybe next time I will let them grow a bit to see- NAH- wont happen. What else is on the plan of the day (POD)? I am making a cake today for a friends BD- (don’t think she will read this before she leaves for work so it is safe to write about)- setting up my sewing machine in the DR to finish the quilt top I started last week. I had to move it all when we rearranged the living room and had some friends over on Friday. Hummmmm I know I have other things to get done but my list is not formulating. I guess that just means I don’t have much to get done. I am sure as the day goes by things will come up. I have to deliver the cake by 1:30 so I know I will be going out at least once today. I hope it warms up a bit. I would even be happy with two digets- 10 degrees would be nice. Well the timer is getting ready I better man my station- (the shower) wish me luck! Green or grey? Or maybe just 7BB!

So many things do today- I need to go get some foods for the house. I want to finish eight blocks of the quilt today- should be able to do that. I (always) have some laundry to do- towels- nothing exciting. And Linner with friends. (Late lunch early dinner= Linner) So there it is- my thrilling exciting day. I also have another idea for a childrens book to write- I have written three. Sent only one in and was rejected. But maybe I am craving rejection so I should send in the second one and start on the third. See, I thought I had something much more exciting to update about- but not really. I did have a funny dream this morning about my grandsons socks and shoes. I couldn’t find a matching sock or shoe but when I found some and put them on he started to tap dance. He is only four months old- so in my dream it looked pretty funny. The strange thing is I never really even dress him- his mom and dad take care of all that stuff everyday. They are such good parents. (I know you can read this but it is true) Well- off to see if more snow is in the driveway. We are losing ground fast and I fear soon the driveway will be to skinny for me to drive out of. Sure wish I didn’t break the snowblower.
I have started another quilt. I wanted to make a new one for Erin, the daughter, so when we got a bit of time I took her to the quilt shop. It was so fun for me. I think she enjoyed it. We had a pattern in mind and she just needed to fabrics. Once we got there she found some that she liked (even though she took them off someones cart lol) and we started putting together the colors and type of fabric she wanted in her quilt. I could tell right away that the pattern that she had picked out at home was not going to work with the fabrics. She saw a quilt made in the shop and they had a free copy of that pattern for me. It worked out very well. When I first bagan it I wanted it to be so perfect that of course I messed it up. But now I got the hang of it I think it will get made pretty quickly. It has been fun to try something I haven’t done yet. Lets see…. what else is going on? Not much. I applied for a job at an insurance company- since my seasonal work is coming to a close for now. It would be great just to get more hours there, but also nice not to stand for an entire day of work. I have been enjoying family being close and oh ya… Pittsburg is going to the superbowl….so that makes my hubby happy- which makes me happy for him. I like football- but he LIKES football. Another snowy wet day in the Berkshires, and one day closer to spring. We were able to drive back home for a visit the other day. It is always so nice to see family and just hang out. We are just a couple of hours away so we can go down for a few hours and come home the same day. When the weather is better I would like to go more often. Well, time to start this day and see what amazing adventures are in store.
Little hat by the door.
It was fun to have the baby come outside for a few minutes and be in the snow. He is so little when we sat him down he didn’t even sink in! Life is good. We are expecting more snow this weekend so I hope to get out and about this morning and then just snuggle in for the storm.
Last night I was sitting in the living room with the fam and realized….hey it is Jan 1- I should have made a list of resolutions or goals that I want to accomplish in 09! I never even thought about it this year. No great diet plan- no great spiritual development plan- no educational goals… and today- Jan 2 I feel, well, FREE! There is something to be said about not setting myself up to not reach that goal that hangs just out of reach. This is not to say that I will not be working on things- I am just not going to say “this is my goal this year”- I think it is a masterful plan… plan to NOT plan. What could be better! Just letting life come to me for a change. I think John wants to update my site. When he does and I can get a lesson in the changes Iwill be back. It is sorta boring to keep things the same anyway, dont ya think. Even if you are comfortable sometimes it is only better when you do something new. I love having my family home again. I look forward to the adventures they will have as they find new jobs and start reaching for their dreams. I am so glad Jon will just be in NY and we can visit once in awhile. And I have the sweetest best grandbaby in the entire world. Life is good. God keeps sending those blessings even when I forget to plan! Amazing!
