LaLa

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Ok so here is my confession. My little grandbaby is making sounds now. Saying all kinds of cute little things- one of them is lalalala….. saying this very clearly I decided that that would be my name. So now when sweetbaby says Lala- I say something like- “LaLa is here” and kiss his adorable face. OK so I am a sad little grandma who wants a name other than grandma. Lala is good- don’t ya think. And he can already say it! He is saying da da da…. but I think that one is taken.

In other news, I am still working on the family history stuff. I found a census record yesterday that let me know the person that I am looking for was not born in NJ like everyone always said- so now I can look for him in PA. I hope to find his birth certificate and get more information on his mom and dad- I would also really like to find out what happened to him- he has been the tricky one to find.

I also found a census record that shows that my dad was born in a bar. Well, let me use the term “tavern”- cuz that is what they called it. Kay Tavern. His oldest sister wrote her life history for me YEARS ago and in re-reading it I came upon the little bit of information that said she was born in the house where her Grandparents lived and that the house they grew up in was built in 1920- so I thought Hummmmm my dad could not have been born in “the family house” if it had not been built yet. So I looked up the census and sure enough they were all living at the tavern in 1920- I don’t know why this is important to me- but it is. I like to know things about my family, but only if they are true. LOL

Hubbie has his day off today- every other Friday he has off- so I just don’t know what we will be doing. I hope some big adventure- for us that would be staying up past 8 p.m. (so Jonathan would say)

It is windy out- so I don’t think he will go fishing… but ya never know.

That boy is AMAZING!

I know… you think just because he is my grandson I would think he is the most amazing child on the planet- that might have something to do with it I admit, but holy cow- the boy can say GOO!!! If you can go on his site (check my blogroll for codename camper) you will see what I mean! Check out his videos. He is ACTUALLY having a conversation with his mom and responds to her request to say “goo” and he SAYS IT! Clear as a bell! Just two months old! Actually- I just can’t stop watching it. I love him. I would even if he couldn’t say “goo” – but the whole “goo” thing…. AMAZING!
